THE TECHNICAL BIT
What is an EPC?
An EPC(energy performance certificate) is a rating scheme to summarise the energy efficiency of a building. All properties are required by law to have an up to date EPC before they can be sold or rented. EPC assessments will usually take up to an hour to complete and will then be registered on the government website within 48 hours. Once this is completed I will email you a link to your EPC on the official epc register.
Once the assessment has taken place, the property is given a rating between A (very good) to G (insufficient).
All private rental properties MUST achieve an energy rating between A and E.
What is a Floor Plan?
A floor plan is a scaled drawing that shows rooms, spaces and physical features of a dwelling as viewed from above. They are used when you are selling or renting a property to allow buyers to see the layout and measurements of the property.
What is a Retrofit Assessment?
Retrofit is the process of making improvements to your home so that it becomes more energy efficient with lower emissions. As an assessor, I can recommend the most productive ways to do this.
